If you find yourself in Athens, seize the opportunity to visit the brand-new MAKRIS Athens Restaurant by Domes. The first Makris All Day Restaurant started in 2018 at Domes of Miramare in Corfu. Following its successful journey there, it opened at Domes of Elounda in Crete, Domes Lake Algarve in Portugal, and as of spring 2023, it welcomes the public at Domes White Coast in Milos.
This is the historical center of Athens, opposite the Acropolis and next to the ancient market. In an Ottoman building that was the first inn in Greece and even today ancient findings are preserved beneath the restaurant’s glass floor, giving visitors a glimpse into the past.
The goal of Chef Patron and his team is to capture the Greekness and tradition of the place in every dish of the degustation menus. The restaurant has its own farm, in the foothills of Corinth, where organic vegetables, fruits, herbs, olives and vines are grown. This ensures a steady supply of exceptional ingredients, sourced from local producers as well. There are two degustation menus available, offering 8 and 13 courses respectively, along with the chef’s delightful surprises, creating a culinary crescendo. The wine list comprises 250 labels from Greek and international vineyards, while signature cocktails have been crafted to perfectly complement the dishes.
