Makris Degustation Receives “Contemporary Greek Cuisine” Award at the FNL Best Restaurant Awards 2022
The FNL Best Restaurants Awards aim to bring to the fore all the protagonists of the Greek restaurant scene, who contribute decisively to its development. The “Contemporary Greek Cuisine” award was received on Monday, May 23 at Zappeion Megaron by the award-winning Executive Chef of Domes Miramare, Petros Dimas, who has previously worked at Badrutt’s Palace in Switzerland, Pollen Street Social in London (Michelin star award), Aquavit in London (Michelin star award), Hytra and Varoulko in Athens (both Michelin starred).
It combines Mediterranean and Corfiot cuisine through the creations of the award-winning chef Petros Dimas. Makris‘s gastronomic philosophy is based on the innovative concept that is enclosed by the axes: food search – cultivation – herbs – edible flowers – maintenance – treatment. Fresh and local products, tender pieces of meat, colorful vegetables, fresh seafood, all transformed through unexpected and exciting cooking methods, textures and temperatures, while the guests of the restaurant have the opportunity to be served by the chefs themselves and speak with them. One secret of this innovative cuisine hides in the choice of the best mineral waters from Greece together with artesian waters from all over the world, creating a list of the best waters in the world.
