The Art of Corfiot Ceramics by Myrto Zirini
When the vacations come to an end, we all look for the right souvenir, which will remind us of the place that we visited. Especially, when the summertime was well-spent on Domes Miramare Corfu
Myrto, a former architect and interior designer, is also the owner of the Myrto Zirini Ceramics, a contemporary workshop and showroom of one-of-a-kind pieces in the Mouragia area of Corfu Town. There, she found the perfect way to offer modern corfiot souvenirs that last forever in Miramare travellers’ memory.
Visitors of her studio can have a quick tour of the facilities, as well as learn about the creative process through a hands-on experience. By creating a unique, usable yet, sculpture-like object from raw earth, they can understand how this primitive art method can become finished art.
Myrto crafts her works with care, providing an often limited quantity of unique pieces for sale in the showroom. She enhances her products using intricate finishing methods
The VIP ”personas” of the workshop constitute utilitarian products, such as bowls, cups, mugs, plates and bowls for dishes. There, you can also found carafes, vases, soap dishes, lamps and more. Her most popular items include bowls and platters monogrammed for wedding presents or special events. Additionally, the studio also produces custom dishes that are dishwasher-safe and lead-free.
Note that her work can be also found in the Ancient Greek Sandals flagship store, located at 1 Kolokotroni Street, Athens and occasionally, Myrto participates in exhibitions and pop-up shops.
